The product brand names Troy-Bilt® and Bolens® were formerly manufactured under the parent company Garden Way Inc. of Troy, NY.
In 2001 Garden Way Inc., filed for bankruptcy and is no longer in business.
On September 1, 2001 MTD Products Inc. out of Cleveland, Ohio purchased most of the remaining assets under the Troy-Bilt® and Bolens® names from the bankruptcy court.
MTD Products Inc. then transferred the Troy-Bilt® brand to the Troy-Bilt LLC Corporation.
Troy-Bilt LLC Inc. is now manufacturing Troy-Bilt® brand outdoor power equipment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION — re: Garden Way Incorporated Chippers & other Debris Related Power Equipment Manufactured Prior to September 2001
MTD Products Inc. / Troy-Bilt LLC did not purchase the debris product line assets of any Garden Way Inc. designed and manufactured Troy-Bilt branded chipping, shredding, vacuuming and/or other debris related power equipment.
MTD Products Inc. / Troy-Bilt LLC does not have any manuals, service parts and/or other engineering or technical information, and therefore cannot supply any service or technical support, on these Garden Way Inc. manufactured debris equipment lines of equipment.
These debris lines assets of the former Garden Way Inc. of Troy, N.Y. were purchased by Murray Inc. in January of 2002. Subsequently, Murray Inc. was purchased by Briggs & Stratton Power Products Group. Briggs & Stratton no longer supports Murray products, including the Garden Way Inc. debris related equipment, manufactured prior to 2003.
